ENpump
For Electroless Nickel Plating
Electroless
nickel is an especially difficult service for filtration pumps.
Not only is the plating solution hot, but tends to plate on any
material exposed to it, especially abraded surfaces such as mechanical
seal faces. Also the nitric acid used for cleaning is highly
corrosive, and will attack most pump materials.
Palm supplies the ENpump especially for this service.
They are available from stock with flow rates from 5 to 130 gpm,
and with discharge heads from 10 to 88 feet. When the impeller
of the pump is installed at a level below that of the solution,
the pumps are self priming, whether they are placed inside or
outside of the tank.
ENpumps utilize a simple vertical, cantilever, sealless design
for minimum maintenance. All of their wetted parts are fabricated
from plastic for maximum chemical resistance. The housing and
volute are made of CPVC for a maximum operating temperature of
200 F. On pumps larger than 1/4 HP, the impeller is constructed
of PVDF (Kynar) for added rigidity. The drive shaft is a single
piece of rigid stainless steel, totally covered with either CPVC
or PVDF. All of the seals are made of Viton® *.
The impeller is the only moving part in an ENpump. It
has no seals, bearings or bushings to wear, and thus requires
little or no maintenance. The pumps are equipped with totally
enclosed fan cooled motors, with easily replaced, oversized bearings.
The motor housings are coated with epoxy for chemical resistance.
